Well, as you raise the issue, it gives the lie to this project being a little TODP or TRN circle jerk, as I believe it was accused of being in a late night deleted post on Shocklines. You all are free to admire me to your hearts' content on cons, and I'll admire you right back (in Christine's case, long time), but business is business. And, if we may be so bold and grandiose - art is art.

A ce propos, je pensais à toi en lisant cet article intéressant du Time "How shoppers make a decision in a recession". Dans le dernier paragraphe, Martin Lindstrom parle du passé comme valeur refuge et rassurante. "Also, companies will start to talk about the past rather than the future. We're seeing that happening a lot with brands now. They're saying, "Hey, if you talk about the past, people feel safe."

Hi Linda,
Great post. Good luck reaching your goal of 350... just remember that the summer can be a slow time for business. So, don't beat yourself up if you don't find 60 more jobs to apply for in the next 3 weeks.

As for Question #3, I think that's an area you can easily cover. My advice: set up a Google ad words account to track key words like New Balance, Timberland, Puma, Reebok (and whatever other international athletic-wear brands are in the area), and marketing, jobs, opening, etc. When you do get an interview, you'll be up on their latest activity. And finally, follow and comment on all of those companies' Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn feeds.

I know you're working hard at finding a job. Keep your head up and stay cool!

I think you should arrange to deliver flyers in your area to homes. Another idea is to get involved with Welcome Wagon in your area, or new mother's groups.
